Sunrise Over Mono Lake

I just enjoyed several days of hiking in the Sierra Nevada at Virginia Lakes and Twenty Lakes Basin. Most wonderful it was and I’ll post some photos of both hikes soon.  The photographic highlight of the trip though,  was  sunrise on the second day out.  After the first day of hiking at Virginia Lakes,  I drove up a forest service road not far from the area  and found a great camping spot overlooking Mono Lake to the east, Dunderberg Peak to the west and Dunderberg Meadows to the north.   Sometimes you’re just in the right place at the right time.  P.S.  Click on the image to enlarge it.

The View From The Tub

One of the perks of housesitting is making use of the amenities the house has to offer. In this case a most comfortable hot tub overlooking Washoe Valley.

Soaking in the early morning hours as sunlight seeped into the clouded valley, I grabbed my phone and took a few shots. Didn’t take into account the mist off the water on the camera lens. The result being not a crisp photo at all but an interesting one.  I think I’ll call it art and see if it sells……
